Hi, I’m Nicolas.
Please, take your shoes off and stay awhile.
About
Ever since I was a kid, I have loved advertising.
I remember stealing my sister’s magazines and running them to my bedroom just so I could look at the latest designer ads. I daydreamed over the pages that depicted a lifestyle that, to my innocent eyes, seemed so far and distant in both space and time. I used to think what a cool job it would be to be the person who came up with such outrageous ideas to show off a mere pair of jeans.
In college, I worked at my school newspaper, where I sold ad space to local shops, along with helping them create their ads. When I graduated, I transitioned the same skillset to radio. Over eight years, I became the top biller at my station, and my secret was simple - spend more time talking to clients about their message rather than trying to push my own. I loved it. Eventually, I realized that if I really wanted to chase my dream of creating an ad that ran in Times Square, I needed to pivot and become an actual copywriter. So off to school, I went.
It’s been five years since I finished my portfolio program at Miami Ad School. I’ve worked at award-winning agencies, helping brands hone and share their message through social media, websites, activations, and more. I even wrote and produced a beautiful bilingual Christmas commercial that made my Bolivian mother tear up.
Today, I am currently settled in New York, closer than ever to making that boy’s dream come true.
Let’s get to work.
